Little Minstrels to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Hi Everyone,

I am so pleased to offer two Kindermusik classes that will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!  100% of tuition for these classes will be donated to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.  The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society helps so many people fighting these blood related cancers; they provide funds for research and development of medication and treatments, they provide hope and assistance to those affected by this disease, and so much more.   

 At the age of 6, I lost my sister to Leukemia (she was 8 years old at the time).  So many years ago, my life profoundly changed and ever since I have felt compelled to be a part of a solution.  I want so badly to make a difference in the lives of other families who struggle to beat this illness.  I was a member of Team in Training back in 2000-2002 and raised over $12,000 toward research and patient services.  I hope to be able to raise that much again, over the next few years.   By joining Team in Training, I feel like I can make a difference in someone's life and have some power to change the outcome of someone else's sister, daughter, son, brother who has been diagnosed with cancer.  I have committed to training to walk the Seattle Rock n Roll Marathon (26.2 miles) on June 23.  During the next few months, it is my goal to raise $1700 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

I will be offering 2 classes of ABC Music and Me beginning the last week in February.  The classes are a half hour long and are 4 weeks in a row.  ABC Music & Me is a research-based language and early literacy program built around music. This class helps children ages 2 to 6 develop pre-literacy and language skills through a child’s favorite rituals: music and story time.

ABC Music & Me supports the early childhood standards and requirements for “high quality programs” as defined by the National Institute for Early Education. Plus for the older age group, this class aligns with pre-K national and state standards.

Curriculum: Wiggles and Giggles, Colors and Shapes on the Farm

Children age 2-4 years

Classes begin Monday, February 27th at 11:30 am- 12pm

Supplies include: a children's magazine/ activity book, CD and instrument

Curriculum: Move and Groove, Jazz Kitchen

Children age 4-6

Classes begin Monday, February 27th from 3:45-4:15pm.
